Every year millions of Americans are affected by Domestic Abuse. This group/class aims to therapeutically support survivors of abuse, teach how to end the cycle of violence, and address issues related to power and control in relationships.
Topics that will be discussed include (but not limited to):
- The two categories of Domestic Violence
- Why does domestic violence occur?
- Characteristics of victims and perpetrators
- Power and Control Techniques
- Cycle of Violence
- Why people stay in abusive relationships
- Impact of cultural issues on victims of domestic violence
- Effects on Children
